Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm by organizing various programmes at its corporate office. The event was presided over by Mahatransco Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.
On the occasion, Independent Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Board Holding Company Vishwas Pathak, Director (Operations) Satish Chavan, Director (Finance) Trupti Mudholkar, Additional Collector and Executive Director (Human Resources) Suchita Bhikane, and Chief General Manager (HR), Mahagenco, Anand Kont were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that women have strengthened their position in various fields and it is essential to encourage and empower them with confidence and opportunities for building a developed nation. He added that women are performing exemplary work not only in the health sector but also in the power sector, and their contributions deserve strong support. He also extended his greetings on International Women’s Day.
Extending his wishes, Vishwas Pathak said that women today are taking leadership in every sector, which is highly commendable. Referring to great powerful queens of Bharat like such as Ahilyadevi Holkar and Rani of Jhansi. He said women have played a vital role in protecting culture and shaping society, and they continue to contribute significantly to the development of family, society and the nation.
Suchita Bhikane emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for women and said that women employees have brought pride to Mahatransco through their dedication and performance. She highlighted the importance of maintaining physical and mental health along with spiritual well-being and stressed the need for environmental awareness, including tree plantation for ecological balance. Also requested all the matas/mothers to follow organic food & organic life for which we need chemical free soil.
Director (Operations) Satish Chavan, Director (Finance) Trupti Mudholkar and Chief Legal Advisor of Mahagenco Dr. Kirti Kulkarni also spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the need to empower women and strengthen their self-confidence. They noted that women successfully handle multiple roles and their patience and resilience help them contribute positively in every field.
The programme also featured an interactive session with renowned playback singer Padma Shri Anuradha Paudwal, conducted by anchor Smita Gavankar. Another interaction was held with popular personalities from the Marathi show “Chala Hawa Yeu Dya”, Dr. Nilesh Sable and Dr. Gauri Sable, moderated by anchor Prashant Anaspure.
The programme began with an introductory address by Chief Industrial Relations Officer Bharat Patil. The event was compered by Kavita Mahajan and Rita Sukalkar, while General Manager (Human Resources) Raju Gaikwad delivered the vote of thanks.
Strong Response to Swadeshi Products Stall
On the occasion, a special stall displaying and selling homemade and swadeshi products prepared by women received an encouraging response. The initiative was taken by Additional Collector and Executive Director (HR) Suchita Bhikane to promote women’s empowerment.
A variety of homemade food items, pulses and other products were made available for sale, attracting significant participation from employees.
